We are proud to be Morisset's only not-for-profit, community-based early education service that has been providing care for over 40 years! We cater to children aged 2-5 years, and understand the importance of the foundational years of a young child's life.
We believe in providing an environment where all educators work in partnership with families and the wider community to provide an educational play-based learning program in line with the Early Years Learning Framework.
We believe that children's voices, opinions and reflections are important, and that part of our role is to advocate for the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and to act in the best interest of all children in the community.
Our curriculum is built around a play based program where children’s interests and strengths along with intentional teaching forming the basis for learning.
Belonging acknowledges children’s interdependence with others and the basis of relationships in defining identities
It is about the present and them knowing themselves, building and maintaining relationships with others, engaging with life’s joys and complexities, and meeting challenges in everyday life.
Children’s identities, knowledge, understandings, capacities, skills and relationships change during childhood.
Educators guide children’s learning and invite them to think, problem-solve and make choices that allow for the development of positive learning dispositions and the skills for life-long learning.
Educators plan excursions to local shops, businesses such as buying groceries to cook with, dentist checkups, local parks and library visits to extend on children's interests.
Morisset Early Education Centre actively engages with families to understand their values, knowledge, children's routines, and care requirements, integrating these insights into our program
